94 Points Winepilot Ken Gargett - The fruit here comes from their best vineyard at Marananga, a west-facing hillside. It spends a year and a half in a mix of French and American oak. The colour is a near opaque maroon, with a nose which reveals notes of spices, cold tea, florals and lots of chocolate. Touches of coffee grinds and black fruits provide a supporting layer. This is a typical, balanced, full of flavour Barossa red, well balanced and with ultra-fine, rather velvety tannins, which will provide pleasure for at least a decade.

93 Points Halliday Wine Companion 2025 - A Marananga shiraz aged in French and American oak for at least 18 months. Deep magenta/crimson with aromas of plush cassis, blueberry and blackberry fruits and hints of dark chocolate, ironstone, licorice, cedar, wood spice, graphite and earth. Full bodied and rich, with ferrous-edged, powdery tannins and an almost creamy, chocolatey angle to its flow across the palate, finishing with plush, velvet-like fruit.

93 Points James Suckling - Marananga sourced, this is a wine of polish and considerable largesse. Coffee grind American oak aromas shift to licorice, blue fruit allusions and kirsch, with dried thyme, lavender and iodine at the back end. A burr of heat across the forceful finish, that is admirably, both detailed and long. A wine for the hedonist that will age well.

93 Points The Real Review - Deep, bright, concentrated plummy fruit aromas—black plums with touches of licorice and fruitcake, dried fruits included. The wine is very big and slightly alcohol-warm on the finish, with a sweet fruit core, dense and chewy in texture but the tannins are nicely polished and balanced. A concentrated, essency shiraz of quality and potential.
